Our private taxi driver will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech and transfer you to Imlil, via the stunning High Atlas route with breathtaking views. Upon arrival in Imlil, the starting point of your hike, you will be welcomed by our guide who will brief you on the upcoming stages of your journey. The hike begins at 9:00 AM from Imlil to the refuge, a 5h trek. Once you arrive at the refuge, you will be settled into the dormitories and have time to relax and enjoy the wild surroundings of the High Atlas while having your lunche. After lunche, you will have time to rest and mentally and physically prepare for the next day's ascent. Dinner will be served at the refuge arround 7:00 PM, followed by a night's rest.
The next day, you will wake up at 3:00 AM, have your breakfast at the refuge, and depart at 4:00 AM to begin your ascent to the summit. You are expected to reach the summit by 8:00 AM. Enjoy the incredible panoramic views and take memorable photos to commemorate your achievement. Afterward, we will begin our descent back to the refuge for a brief rest before continuing down to Imlil for lunche. The driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Marrakech. You’ll stay at the Neltner Mountain Hut (Refuge du Toubkal), offering shared dormitory-style accommodation with basic facilities, including bedding, meals, and a warm atmosphere.
While prior trekking experience is helpful, it’s not required. Good physical condition is important, as the trek involves significant elevation gain and long hiking hours.
Bring layered clothing, sturdy hiking boots, a warm jacket, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a refillable water bottle. Trekking poles and a headlamp are also recommended.
The ascent to Mount Toubkal is moderate to challenging, ideal for those with good fitness. It involves steep climbs and high altitudes, but no technical climbing experience is needed.
